Primary school meals

We put a great deal of time, effort and resources into creating and promoting healthy menus and offering choices to children.

All the food and drinks that we offer in schools complies with the Healthy Eating in Schools (Nutritional Standards & Requirements) (Wales) Regulations.

How much?

A two course set main meal for a primary school child is £2.20 (£11 per week) please make sure that payment is made via the Upay app please download the app then the ID is CBCS and if you need your unique code for your child please call into the office and see Mrs Hazell.

Apply for free school meals

Who can claim?

If you live in Caerphilly and receive any of the following, you can claim free school meals for your school-aged child

  • Income Support
  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and their annual income does not exceed £16,190. (HM Revenue and Customs are responsible for assessing the level of annual income.)
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit.
  • Working Tax Credit 'run-on' - the payment someone may receive for a further four weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit.
  • Universal Credit
